“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
- Carl Rogers
I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. For more than 20 years, I built my career in corporate America leading teams across Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Logistics Services. My work centered on solving complex problems, developing high-performing teams, and helping organizations achieve meaningful results.
While these experiences strengthened my abilities in communication, analytical thinking, collaboration, coaching, and leadership, they also taught me one of the most important lessons of my career: people are not numbers.
In many organizations, success is measured by metrics, productivity, and performance. While those outcomes matter, I learned that lasting success begins with people feeling seen, valued, respected, and heard. The moments that were most meaningful to me were the opportunities to coach, mentor, and empower individuals to recognize strengths they often did not see in themselves.
My philosophy has always been rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. As I transitioned throughout my career, I discovered a deeper calling: helping people navigate challenges, uncover their resilience, and move toward lives that feel purposeful and fulfilling.
This realization inspired my transition into Marriage and Family Therapy. I am drawn to the profession because I believe that everyone deserves support, especially during seasons when they may not have the strength or confidence to advocate for themselves. My goal is not to lead people where I think they should go, but to walk beside them as they discover their own path. As they gain confidence, strength, and self-awareness, I hope to gradually step behind them, empowering them to trust themselves and continue moving forward independently.
My professional background provides a unique perspective as a therapist. The same skills that allowed me to identify root causes, navigate complex systems, facilitate meaningful conversations, and develop others now support my work in understanding the complexities of individuals, couples, and families.
Ultimately, becoming a therapist is a continuation of the work I have always been passionate about—helping people recognize their value, discover their strengths, and create meaningful change in their lives. I believe that every person has a story worth hearing, a purpose worth pursuing, and the capacity for growth when provided the most important feeling that every human deserves to feel - hope.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I am always open to a good game night!
