Michelle (She/Her/Hers)
Hello, and welcome! My name is Michelle (She/Her/Hers), and I am glad you are here.
I believe that meaningful change often begins with a simple but powerful experience: feeling genuinely heard, valued, and supported. Inspired by the positive impact therapy has had on my own life, I chose to pursue a career helping others navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and move toward the lives they hope to create.
I am a Master's student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Mount Mercy University and am working toward becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Summa Cum Laude, with minors in Psychology and Gender Studies.
Before beginning my training as a therapist, I spent more than 20 years working directly with people in relationship-focused roles. Those experiences strengthened my ability to listen, build trust, and form meaningful connections with others.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, client centered, and strengths based. I view clients as the experts in their own lives, and I see therapy as a partnership built on trust, curiosity, and respect. I strive to create a warm and welcoming space where clients feel understood, respected, and supported. While therapy often involves difficult conversations, I also think there is room for hope, laughter, and celebrating small victories along the way. I value authenticity and recognize that humor and connection can be powerful parts of the healing process.
I value cultural humility and I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences feel welcomed and respected.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats, exploring nature, traveling, listening to music, and expressing creativity through art, writing, and cooking. I look forward to meeting you where you are and would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
