Mary (She/They)
“How can I be substantial if I do not cast a shadow? I must have a dark side also If I am to be whole.” - C.G. Jung
Mary (She/They) views personal struggle as an invitation to turn toward the parts of the self that are seeking attention, rather than a problem that needs to be eliminated. She believes that beneath many of the problems that bring people into therapy lies a deeper longing to feel whole. Because meaningful change often requires stepping into the unknown, Mary creates a space where clients feel safe enough to be vulnerable and brave enough to take risks. At the heart of her work is a deep respect for each person's story and a genuine desire to understand how they came to be who they are. With this in mind, she hopes to provide support for those who seek to discover new possibilities for themselves and their lives.
Mary's style is warm, collaborative, and conversational. She hopes to foster an environment where clients feel able to show up as they are and speak openly about their experiences. Because every person is unique, she does not believe that a single approach works for everyone. Mary considers it a privilege to accompany clients as they navigate uncertainty, reconnect with themselves, and move toward lives that feel more authentic.
Mary spent her undergraduate years studying painting and drawing at the University of Iowa and continues to create music and visual art today. She remains genuinely interested in the many ways people connect with themselves and the world around them. This curiosity continues to shape both her creative pursuits and her work with clients.
