Madelyn (She/Her/Hers)

“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light” - Brené Brown

Maddie graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in mental health. She has learned that human connection and support found in relationships can be a source of healing for many. Throughout her education and lived experiences she has developed a passion for being that source of safety to all those who walk into her life. Maddie knows that the narratives of our lives are never fully finished even if we become caught in a whirlwind of trials and tribulations.

Maddie has cultivated a love for the field of therapy and the opportunities it presents for change and growth to occur; not only in individuals, but in family or couple units as well. She places great importance and value in showing up authentically and works to represent this way of being for her clients. She views the therapeutic relationship as a nonjudgmental collaborative space where individuals have the ability to explore themselves and the relationships they hold with others. It is her core belief that security with others provides the foundation for positive mental health and well-being. Through the therapeutic alliance, she believes that trust, comfort, and safety provide the context necessary for self-growth to bloom. Maddie understands that being a human can be hard, challenging, and sometimes chaotic. She vows to walk alongside each and every one of her clients to help them reach their full potential and find joy in the lives that they lead.

In her free time, Maddie can almost always be found with a book, thrifting, coloring, or spending time with her significant other. She values taking the time to find inner peace in the unpredictable world and understands that cherished and fulfilling activities can achieve this.
