“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.”- Brene Brown

Active listening, seeking understanding, asking good questions, hearing answers and sensing where they lead…

This is how Lora has always embraced communication and, through it, sought to forge true human connection. Without Connection and Trust, the best rewards of the client-therapist relationship can never be fully realized, and together they form the cornerstone of her approach to therapy.

Lora believes that Being Heard and Feeling Validated are the best reassurances a therapist can provide. And by offering these simple-but-elusive kindnesses to her clients, she hopes to help them learn to one day provide them for themselves.

Integrating her love of food and people, Lora has owned and operated Naomi’s Kitchen–Iowa’s original meal prep business–in North Liberty, for the past 20 years, providing healthy, delicious meals and “selling time” to people to accommodate and facilitate their busy lives. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Colorado Denver.

As Lora explores the myriad clinical methods and directions available to therapists, she currently feels most drawn to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), life transitions, grief and loss, and is interested in working with both individuals and couples. She also thrives on researching novel approaches and will endeavor to continually learn and apply new disciplines throughout her education and career.

Outside of her thriving business and ongoing education, Lora always makes time to immerse herself in a broad array of penchants and passions: friends, family, fitness, food, biking, music, laughter, nature, and (whenever possible) the peace of walking on a beach, searching for sea shells and savoring her inner peace.
