JJ (He/Him/His)
JJ graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology and Sociology. He always had a strong desire to become a therapist, and chose to embark on the path of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist by continuing his education at Mount Mercy University. JJ has chosen this career path due to his passion of wanting to help others with their struggles and their journey throughout life.
JJ believes that every person is worthy of respect and the resources necessary to live the life that they desire to lead. Because of this, he strives to create a space where people can express themselves truthfully and without judgement. Simultaneously, he aspires to also create a space where people can strive to improve themselves and their lives. JJ understands that progress
cannot be made without effort, but he also understands that therapeutic work is a difficult process. He wants to help people with this difficult journey because he understands what it is like to struggle, which fosters his desire to help others overcome whatever adversity they may be facing. As a result JJ holds a lot of empathy for others, and he desires to create a safe and collaborative place for everyone.
In his free time, JJ enjoys several hobbies. Some of these include playing volleyball,
pickleball, and all types of video games. Also, he enjoys watching sports, with football and basketball being his favorite two to spectate. JJ also enjoys exercising, going on walks, and spending time out in nature. His true passion and favorite source of enjoyment comes from his friends and his family. JJ believes that happiness and enjoyment comes from connection with others, and he is very excited to connect with clients in the future
