Since graduating with her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2012, Jess has been a full-time clinician in private practice settings, most recently opening her own practice, Prism Therapy Group. She has provided mental health supports and services in a number of settings including PMIC, BHIS, and agency. Jess primarily works from an attachment-based perspective and utilizes experiential, narrative, and collaborative frameworks. Other modalities she has training in include: EMDR; DBT; sandtray; Theraplay; Autplay; and Somatic-based treatments, including Somatic Experiencing (SE), Transforming Experience Brain (TEB), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Bodynamics. Jess is currently working towards a Ph. D. in Marriage and Family Therapy.
In addition to being an AAMFT approved supervisor, Jess is also credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She is passionate about play therapy, working from a person-centered approach, and have served on the Iowa Association for Play Therapy Board since 2020. Jess works with all populations and ages; however, she is very passionate about complex/chronic and/or comorbid diagnosis work, personality disorder, and trauma.
