Gavin (He/Him-His)
Hello! I earned my undergraduate degree from Utah Valley University and am excited to be a student therapist at the Olson Clinic.
First and foremost, I believe you are the expert of your own story, and I strive to create a relaxed, safe, client-centered environment where your goals and what matters most to you guide our work together. I welcome clients of all genders, identities, faiths, and cultural backgrounds. I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing, growth, and greater self-understanding.
My work is grounded in a humanistic worldview, and I recognize that life is full of uncertainty and challenges—I’m here to help. I believe in embracing life as it is, not as it “should” be, and I see change as something that often begins when we take risks to share long-held feelings and live more authentically.
I approach therapy through an experiential lens, and I see my role as one of active curiosity as I engage with individuals and families in the therapeutic process. This can involve increasing emotional awareness within relationships and exploring deeper meaning through shared experiences in session. My goal is to foster both intimacy and individuality in ways that support growth and healing. I also believe meaningful change often occurs through emotionally significant and symbolic experiences.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy video games (with immersive stories), cooking, reading, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors.
