Cheyenne graduated from the University of Iowa with high distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. From taking her first psychology course, she knew she wanted to help people lead hopeful, meaningful, and fulfilled lives. She became interested in marriage and family therapy after working with several children, adolescents, and adults in her roles as a camp counselor at a children’s mental health summer camp. This desire grew as she worked as a direct support professional. Through these positions, she realized the importance of family support, which is what she seeks to foster as a student therapist.
Cheyenne looks forward to hearing your story, hopes, and dreams. Everyone has a unique past, and she strives to be curious about your experiences. Moving forward into life, she wants to work alongside you to help reach your chosen goals. She will walk beside you on your chosen path, no matter the changes you encounter. Cheyenne strives to create a warm, welcoming environment in which to connect with you. Through the rollercoaster of life, she will be happy to work with you. Meeting with you and your family will be a pleasure and a privilege.
In her free time, Cheyenne loves reading books, her favorite of which is Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. She is also an avid baker and loves trying out new recipes. When it is nice outside, you can catch Cheyenne fishing at the nearest pond. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Iowa. She has experience working with many ages as a nanny, a direct support supervisor for dependent adults, and a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her interest in becoming a therapist began in high school as she spear-headed the mental health awareness program at her school. She is entering her second year at Mount Mercy University’s Marriage and Family Program. Her therapeutic interests include systemic thinking, attachment wounds and theory, solution-focused approaches, and narrative approaches.
