Alyssa W. (She/Her/ Hers)
Alyssa graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa, with a minor in counseling. Alyssa approaches therapy with empathy, curiosity, and respect for everyone. Her professional background includes working with neurodivergent children. She is drawn to working with individuals and families who are neurodiverse. Alyssa is passionate about creating a warm and inviting environment that allows clients to feel open and respected. Alyssa’s own experiences with therapy and personal growth are what inspired her to be a support for other people.
As a student therapist, Alyssa values collaboration with the clients, as well as highlighting the strengths that clients already bring to the therapy room. Alyssa believes that all clients have their own unique and important life experiences that deserve to be honored in the therapy room. She hopes to create a space where all clients feel valued and safe enough to be their authentic selves.
She also recognizes the time and resources it takes to achieve personal goals, and she strives to be a patient and accommodating person. Alyssa also enjoys creativity, play, and humor in the therapy room. Alyssa would be honored to walk alongside you during your therapeutic journey.
In her free time, Alyssa loves to craft and paint, bake homemade goodies, read, kayak, and spend time with her family and friends
