Symon’s family history has enjoyed being part of the Cedar Rapids area since the early 1900’s. The Cedar Rapids and Marion areas hold a special place in his heart. Symon holds degrees in Social Studies, Secondary & Special Education, and a master’s in Special Education from Mount Mercy University. He is entering his sixteenth year as an educator in Marion, Iowa. Symon spent four of those years as an instructional coach in his school district and the other twelve as a behavior focus teacher at the elementary and intermediate level.

As a student therapist Symon is very excited to be part of each and every client’s journey. He strives to meet each client where they are with compassion and empathy. He feels privileged to be part of the healing process and believes that love, kindness, and staying curious can make dramatic differences for us all. It has been Symon’s life mission to help others effectively communicate and understand each other. He looks forward to being a calm and safe place as clients begin to understand and develop deeper connections with themselves and others.

You can find Symon in his spare time being with family and friends. He also enjoys collecting vinyl records, local live music, playing tennis, and reading science fiction.
