Couples, Families, & Partnerships
Skyler completed her undergrad at Mount Mercy University in 2022 with a major in Psychology and a minor in English. Skyler is beginning her second year working towards a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Mount Mercy University. Skyler has worked with at-risk youth and teens with their mental health struggles over the past year. Skyler knows that even though she has not had a lot of experience, she still feels that with her compassion and empathy, she can still hold a safe and affirming space for all. Her interest in becoming a therapist started in high school and she is hoping to continue to learn and help individuals grow through their struggles.
Skyler will work with clients to create a safe space in her practice. Through her work with teenagers, she has been reminded that it takes a great deal of hard work and identity searching to create spaces where people are safe to open up without fear of judgement. Skyler enjoys working with people from all walks of life and believes in working with clients and families where they are at in life. She believes that in order for therapy to be helpful, we need to slow down and stay present in the moment. Skyler promises to be an authentic and supportive witness to your therapeutic journey.
In her free time, Skyler enjoys sitting at home with her cat and reading a book. She also enjoys watching tv crime dramas, comedies, and action movies. Skyler also likes to spend time with her family every chance she gets. She can also occasionally be seen outdoors camping with her family.
