Kristin graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 with a BA in Theatre Arts, and from Louisiana State University in 2006 with a Ph.D. in Theatre History. She worked for over 16 years as a college professor, teaching classes in the arts and humanities. Recently she has worked at the University of Iowa College of Nursing as an academic advisor and admissions counselor, helping high-school and college-aged students navigate their educational journeys.

As a student-therapist, Kristin works with clients to create a welcoming environment and strives to provide a warm space where everyone is heard and validated. All clients deserve a judgement-free, safe space to be heard and explore their concerns. Kristin believes that everyone has the capacity to grow and develop, and that therapy is a great way to begin the process of moving in a more positive direction. Kristin emphasizes a creative approach to therapy, which adapts to the needs of each client and the goals they have for themselves. She believes each person is the expert in their lives, and is committed to moving at a pace that works best for each client.

When not working, Kristin enjoys traveling to other countries to explore their cultures. She has a lifetime goal of visiting all of the continents, and has currently visited 5 of the 7.
