Janey’s educational career began at Iowa State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also minored in Criminal Justice Studies and Communication Studies. Following graduation from ISU, Janey took a year off school to work as a youth counselor at a local in-patient treatment facility. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue the educational journey that will lead her to her goal of helping as many individuals, families, and couples as she can.
Every person deserves respect, dignity, and kindness. As a student therapist, Janey will foster an environment that is safe and welcoming for those in need of counseling and support during whichever season of life they find themselves in. Janey will strive to use her privilege to provide a safe space to the communities that are oftentimes underrepresented. She is growing as much from her time in therapy with you, as hopefully you are with her.
In her free time, Janey enjoys spending time with her two cats and dog. She enjoys horror films, reality television, nature, and looking for rocks with her partner, Sam.
