Darline graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Darline completed a Masters in Molecular Biology and Genetics through the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/City College of New York. Her life’s journey has brought her to Mt Mercy to pursue her passion for helping others through the Marriage and Family Therapy Program.

Life pressures affect us all no matter our stage of life and as a result, at times, we all may require a simple assist to get our life where we want it to be.  We often need a judgement free zone that allows us the opportunity to lay down our burdens and unpack life’s pressures. She offers you that opportunity while treating you with unconditional, positive regard as you explore, gain meaning, and understanding who you are—your wants, your desires. Darline wants to work collaboratively with you to ensure you feel seen and heard and together we can navigate your path, the path that leads to the best you! She understands the value and importance of empowering you so that you can actively engage in processing your unique thoughts, concerns, and desires--leading to a better understanding of who you truly are and can fully be through healing and greater self-awareness.

Darline is looking forward to working with individual, couples and families of all different cultures and ethnicities. Darline strives to practice with cultural humility understanding the importance of how race, gender, sexuality, disability and many other factors can influence how we engage and deal with life’s difficult challenges.

When Darline is not in the therapy room, She values the importance of indulging in self-care. I enjoy early morning long walks/runs with my dog.  This is my happy space where she can relax, take a deep breath, and re-energize for life’s daily challenges. She also enjoys therapeutic massage so that she can eventually return to a regular workout routine. In addition, Darline enjoys giving back to my community through my involvement with various non-profit organizations. However, Darline values most spending quality “fun time” with my family and friends and as a classically trained pianist, she looking forward to getting back to playing the piano and entertaining treasured family members and friends.
