Ben
He/Him/His
Ben graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking. After receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from Northern Illinois University he worked in community arts for 8 years before enrolling in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Mount Mercy University.
Ben is a student therapist who believes that clients should be empowered to guide therapy based on their own goals. He will strive to create a safe shared space for therapy where clients can explore their own feeling, thoughts, and experiences. Ben is committed to working with clients from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. His therapeutic focus will be helping clients heal and grow as well as challenging them to develop their own skills for adapting to the many challenges of life.
When not in the clinic, Ben can be found in his garden, sketching ideas for his next artwork, or trying to learn a new language. To schedule an appointment with Ben, please call the Olson MFT Clinic at 319-368-6493.
