"We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship.” - Harville Hendrix
Ashley graduated from Iowa State University with a background in English
Education, Psychology, and Liberal Arts. Her professional experience spans youth residential treatment, outpatient and community mental health settings, and supporting individuals facing intimate partner violence. As a student MFT at Mount Mercy University, she is excited to connect with clients in a new role.
Ashley is passionate about using a systemic framework and experiential therapies with individuals, partners, and families. She believes in the power of authenticity, striving to be her true self with clients and encouraging them to do the same. Her goal is to create a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel recognized and safe to be who they are. As a gender- and identity-affirming therapist, Ashley is dedicated to providing inclusive and respectful care to all.
Guided by values of humor, sincerity, and self-compassion, Ashley believes profound healing happens within the context of relationships. True therapeutic change occurs together. She is honored to meet clients where they are, joining them in the discomfort, joy, wonder, and awkwardness of being human.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys birdwatching, creating Spotify playlists, writing and reading poetry, and adventuring in the outdoors with her rescue dog, Bee
